This fully accredited qualification is designed to support current or new staff who work in health and care settings such as care homes, health centers, surgeries and childcare settings and gives them underpinning knowledge of how to prevent and control the spread of infection caused either by bacteria or viruses.

Level 2 Award in the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health and Care Settings

Topics covered:

Learners gaining this qualification will understand common infections and the chain of infection, the importance of correct hand washing procedures, the principles of personal protective equipment, the decontamination process, waste management procedures and roles and responsibilities in preventing infection.

Price – £55/candidate , group bookings and in house training will get 20% discount and their price starts at £40, depending on the number of candidates booked.

How long will it take?
Course start time @9.30am. The total qualification time for this qualification is 4 hours, all of which are recommended as guided learning hours.

Entry requirements:
To register for this qualification, learners must be at least 16 years of age and have a minimum of Intermediate Level in English.

Assessment method
This qualification is assessed by a 25-question multiple-choice test which will be externally marked by our awarding body, Highfield. Successful learners must achieve a minimum pass mark of 17 correct answers (68%). The examination is graded as pass or fail. The certificates will take approx 2 weeks to arrive.  This qualification is accredited and approved in line with the Public Health England and Ofqual.
