Paediatric First Aid Level 3 Course – 2 days (1 day online), is suitable for teachers, support staff, nursery staff, childminders and anyone working with children from 0-1 and from 1 to puberty.
If you are looking to register with Ofsted, you will need this Paediatric First Aid Course. Upon successful completion of the course, guidance with Ofsted registration will be given.
This Paediatric First Aid Course is all-inclusive of exam and certificate and fully approved by Health and Safety, Ofqual. Please note that a valid photo ID is required to be presented on the day of the course, due to the fact that this is an accredited certificate. There is a multiple choice test at the end of the 2nd course day – If successful, your certificate can take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

How long will the course take?
This award typically involves a 2 day course ( 1st day study at home/distance learning) 12 hours in total: 9.30am-4.30pm , this course comprises 1 day of distance learning in the comfort of your home/school/office, followed by 1 day in the classroom, you will only need to physically attend at our training centre on the 2nd day of the course.
Once your place on the course has been confirmed your log in details and web platform to complete the online subjects will be emailed within 24 hours, please ensure that you provide a correct email (check spam/junk/inbox) and have access to internet, and a laptop or desktop computer (mobile devices may not necessarily be suited). All online modules must be completed in full prior to attending the second day of classroom training and assessment.
How is the Paediatric First Aid course qualification assessed?
This qualification is assessed through practical and oral questioning through the duration the course by the tutor with a 25 multiple questions examination to be completed correctly, qualifies you for certification. All the test questions will be thoroughly covered through out the course. Learners must practically demonstrate the application of the correct techniques in all the First Aid areas indicated within the learning outcomes of the unit.
What next?
Certificates for successful learners will be dispatched for distribution in due course (approx. 1 week) by the Centre. Successful learners will also receive a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification. This Paediatric First Aid Course qualification lasts for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to resit/refresh.
Learners on the Paediatric First Aid Course will become familiar with the role of the paediatric first aider and be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation such as a child or an infant who:
- is unresponsive
- has an airway obstruction or chocking
- has a condition effecting the eyes, ears or nose
- has a chronic medical condition or sudden illness
- is experiencing the effects of extreme heat and/or cold
- has been poisoned
- has been bitten or stung
- has sustained an electric shock
- is suffering from shock
- is wounded or bleeding
- is suffering from burns or scalds
- has a fracture or dislocation
- has a sprain or a strain
- has a head, neck or back injury
- has suffered a minor injury
- is going into hypovolaemic shock
- is suffering from a severe allergic reaction/anaphylactic shock

This Paediatric First Aid Course complies with EFEYS and Ofsted compulsory register recommended for teachers, nursery staff, childminders, babysitters, etc.

Course Location: Our training centre is located at 200A Pentonville Road, N1 9JP. There is Pay and Display, if you are driving. We are approximately 10 minutes’ walk from King’s Cross Station. Buses within a short walking distance are 73, 214, 30.
