
Emergency First Aid course -1 day course- £90/person
Emergency First Aid course (EFAW) Level 3 is a qualification which provides learners with emergency first aid skills in order to assist someone who becomes ill at work.
This First Aid Course is a legal requirement in working environments that have minimum hazards along with a low number of employees. Please see the HSE – Health and Safety Executive guidance here.
This course is ideal for a person who has an office based job or for a library, shop, retail, etc.

How long will the course take?
This qualification is typically delivered on a 1-day: 9.30am-4.30pm
How is the qualification assessed?
This first aid course qualification is assessed via practical demonstration and oral questioning as well as a small 15 question multiple choice test – all will be covered through the length of the course – a minimum of 11 questions must be answered correctly to achieve a pass.
Please note that a valid photo ID is required to be presented on the day of the course, due to the fact that this is an accredited certificate.
Subjects covered in the Emergency First Aid course:
o understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
o be able to assess an incident and liaise with the ambulance staff
o be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
• be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
• be able to perform CPR and use an automatic defibrillator AED, where one is available
o know how to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
o be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding
o recognize hypovolaemic shock
o be able to manage a casualty who is in shock
o be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury
What next?
Every candidate will obtain an Emergency First Aid course certificate and a detailed card that states the newly achieved qualification Emergency First Aid Course (approx. 2 weeks). This is valid for a period of 3 years and, in order to re-qualify, learners must attend a new First Aid course.

Course Location: Our training centre is located at 200A Pentonville Road, N1 9JP. There is Pay and Display if you are driving. We are approximately 10 minutes’ walk from King’s Cross Station. Buses within a short walking distance are 73, 214, 30.
